Eva Thomas is a Canadian First Nations writer, director, and producer based in Toronto and Wallaceburg, Ontario, and a proud member of the Walpole Island First Nation. A 2025 Red Nation International Film Festival alumna, she received Outstanding Achievement in Directing, Best Picture, and Best Original Screenplay for Nika & Madison. That same year, Seeds was nominated for Best Picture.

Her work has garnered national and international acclaim, including nominations from the Writers Guild of Canada for Nika & Madison and the comedy series Don’t Even, and recognition from the Directors Guild of Canada for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Feature Film. Nika & Madison also received Best Narrative Feature at the Santa Fe International Film Festival and has been recognized at major festivals including Toronto International Film Festival and the American Indian Film Festival.

Eva directed episodes of the CBC series Still Standing, earning a Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction in 2024, and has written for acclaimed series including Shelved (CTV), Zarqa (CBC Gem), Acting Good (CTV/APTN), and Don’t Even (Crave/APTN). She co-wrote, co-directed, and produced the feature film Aberdeen, which premiered at TIFF in 2024, and also directed the short film Redlights.
