Marcei Brown is co-founder and CEO of Crewvie, the leading global platform for productions, studios and artisans which launched in 2018. Brown, alongside co-founders Jeanette Volturno, Camille Alcasid and Sandra Jimenez, established Crewvie as a proprietary resource for comprehensive workflows for studios and production companies, streamlined access to a well of diverse talent and measurable data focused on advancing DEIA behind-the-camera, sustainability across productions and more. The platform’s easy-to-use, interactive dashboard also allows artisans to take control of their personal and professional information to customize their profiles, create lists, connect with other users, and enhance overall productivity.
 
Brown is also a founding partner of Catchlight Studios & Film – with fellow Crewvie principal Jeanette Volturno – and has produced or spearheaded nearly 20 films since rising in the ranks from assistant directing. Credits include Songbird, where she served as a producer on the first movie shot in Los Angeles during the Covid-19 lockdown, UMMA for Sony Pictures and Sam Raimi, BLACKkKLANSMAN and the Academy Award-winning film, Get Out. 
 
She previously worked across the country as a unit production manager on major studio movies, including Evan Almighty, Wanderlust, Identity Thief and The Five Year Engagement. She has also worked as assistant director with such directors as Jay Roach, Tom Shadyac, and David Wain. 
 
Brown began her film career as a production assistant after earning a degree in film from Loyola Marymount University. The camaraderie of the movie-making experience sparked her interest in being a filmmaker. She enjoys making the director’s vision come to life on the screen.

I grew up on the Navajo Nation, near Shiprock, NM. I’m 24 years old and I’m a singer, motivational speaker, and artist. I am Tóáheedlíinii (water flows together clan). I compose songs in my Diné language to inspire all generations of native people to learn their culture & language. Music is our universal language, it will speak to you even when you don’t understand the words through the melodies and the beat. My goal is to share what I’ve learned from my time on Mother Earth to inspire my people to connect with their roots. I give presentations on traditional stories, traditional foods & utensils, mental health, & balancing tradition with modern society. My ultimate goal is to spark interest in all people to learn about their culture as well as others, to plant the seed & let their curiosity lead them back to their roots.
